Networking for 3,420 professionals at A@W Milan 2022

21 November 2022

They were two intense days, those of ARCHITECT@WORK Milan 2022 at Allianz MiCo, which since 2014 has been hosting the event dedicated par excellence to the world of architecture, building and interior design professionals.

On 9 and 10 November, as many as 3,420 specifiers visited ARCHITECT@WORK Milan. For a few hours in the afternoon, they left their work sites and work tables and were able to discover the innovations selected by the technical committee, aware of the high educational value of the experience of approaching and coming into direct contact with innovations and manufacturers in a context with a fully professional imprint, to be experienced in presence but also online, through the resources offered by the ARCHITECT@WORK Digital platform.

The moments of visit, in-depth analysis and dialogue between designers and exhibitors, the fulcrum and main centre of interest of the ARCHITECT@WORK format, have found their place in the usual layout designed by studio C4 -Creative Fo(u)r, recurring in all the international editions of the event and marked by a graphic and linear black&white, mirroring the transparency and democratic nature of the exhibition and the other interactive areas of the event.

The talks - in the new streamlined and interlocutory multi-voice structure on the theme 2022 Air, water, earth, fire -, the photographic exhibition of contemporary architecture portrayed by Luc Boegly and the Good Materials exhibit curated by Baolab, together with the opportunities for a break offered by the temporary bookstore and the refreshment areas, the panorama of proposals perfectly tailored to the designer, ready to be presented once again in Milan next year.

The dates to put in your diary are 8 and 9 November 2023.

ARCHITECT@WORK Milan 2023 will be launched as early as tomorrow Tuesday 22/11: companies interested in participating can register to book their stand.

ARCHITECT@WORK Milan is getting ready to welcome the architecture community

21 September 2022

The time has finally come: manufacturers, architects and interior designers will meet again soon at the eighth edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Milan, on 9 and 10 November at the Allianz MiCo.

And there is much to be excited about, because a jury of experts has once again selected hundreds of new and innovative products with critical spirit and focus on research and sustainability, inviting visitors on an inspiring journey of discovery. With the same high quality standards, democratic presentation and joyful atmosphere as ever, in the consistent and now recognisable style of ARCHITECT@WORK: the most effective and entertaining way to learn about current trends and to stay in touch with the architecture and design community.

This year's theme for the seminars and the materials exhibition is Air, Water, Earth, Fire, a way to investigate how architectural design can respond to the challenge of ecological transition through the conscious use of natural elements.

The event will be held at the Allianz MiCo: a new name but a familiar location (it is the former MiCo Milano Congressi), a wide-ranging structure in the heart of the city, easily and quickly reached by public and private transport.

"Product innovation and quality win at ARCHITECT@WORK", "The key ingredients are networking, sharing and the possibility of collaboration". "We come here with clear ideas and go home with precise technical information", "More often than not, the contact established during the two-day event turns into something operational". 'Democratic'. 'Space for concreteness'. 'Everything well organised'.
In the words of some of the participants in the 2021 edition, the strengths of the event are explained.

The booths available to exhibitors are all identical in size, calibrated to offer the best visibility for the company and to invite visitors to stop and talk. The route between the showcased products, a very diversified offer selected by a jury of experts, is fluid and dynamic: it does not constrain and, above all, does not overwhelm those who walk along it with excesses of scenography and information. One stops when something catches one's attention and easily makes contact with the staff on the booth.

The strength of the ARCHITECT@WORK exhibition layout lies in two aspects that, although they may seem contradictory, in fact produce operability and generate opportunities for discussion and dialogue: the professionalism that dresses the exhibition space in the round, aimed at giving maximum relevance to the product and to the moment of encounter between visitor and exhibitor, and the informality that characterises the days of the event, giving it a unique communicative effectiveness, immediately visible and usable.

Accompanying the format of ARCHITECT@WORK as a showcase for innovations and a salon for networking, many interesting seminars, led by experts and emerging figures on the Italian and international architecture scene, reinforce the educational value of the event. This year, in particular, a series of round tables (three per day) is scheduled, where designers will dialogue with other stakeholders in the construction industry and environmental protection. Among others, the AMDL Circle and Lombardini22 studios, as well as the CNAPPC and the One Ocean Foundation, the Milan Polytechnic and the Green Building Council.

Also dedicated to natural elements is the materials exhibition curated by Baolab, entitled Good materials - The life force of matter. "We like to think... that the time is ripe for natural elements and human knowledge to come together to design good materials... capable of taking care of the biosphere, regenerating its resources... elements necessary for the rebirth of life," reads the exhibition description.

Visiting ARCHITECT@WORK therefore translates into a highly educational experience, a not-to-be-missed professional development opportunity in the fields of architecture, construction, interior design and design.

Cancellation for A@W Turin 2022. A@W Milan is set to open its doors on 9th and 10th November 2022 at Allianz MiCo.

3 May 2022

The post-COVID era is one with many fluctuations for the trade show industry in general, which is affected massively by continuous postponements, new and a-typical timings, budget restrictions, … External factors all of which have contributed to our decision to cancel the 2nd edition of A@W Turin – which was scheduled for 5th and 6th October 2022.

A decision taken in the best interest of our customers and our Italian projects: hosting two A@W editions in Italy this Fall would not be feasible.

Our appointment in Milan however remains confirmed for 9th and 10th November 2022 at Allianz MiCo and we are confident that the future is very bright for a concept such as A@W!

Keep an eye on our websites for more information or contact our team for further details.

A@W Milan 2021: Renewed consensus among the public

12 November 2021

The seventh edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Milan has come to a successful close: over 3,000 visitors for the 190 exhibitors present, with particular appreciation by participants for the quality of the proposals and the opportunity to finally meet live again.

At MiCo in Milan, during the two intense days of 3 and 4 November, we talked about an ingredient in architecture which, although impalpable and invisible, draws voids as opposed to solids and, par excellence, is synonymous with breath and lightness: Oxygen.

Alfonso Femia, one of the protagonists of the seminars on the calendar, talks about oxygen as a material and as a trigger for dilating and compressing. Rhythms and sequences concretize these actions and make them legible, almost without our being aware of it, on the facades of the buildings that design the landscape and form the backdrop to our daily lives.

Architecture, both in its outer shell and in its interior spaces, is therefore a real organism and, as such, lives on materials and technologies that are now increasingly developed with a view to sustainability, regeneration and ethical use throughout the entire life cycle.

Many proposals in line with these values have intrigued the audience of visitors and professionals from the architecture, construction and design sectors along the ARCHITECT@WORK Milan 2021 exhibition route.

The resumption of the event in presence, also followed online on a dedicated platform, saw an increase in products and solutions capable of combining several levels of sensitivity and, therefore, of generating an innovative design approach. After the prolonged solely digital sharing experienced during the pandemic, there emerged, in a strongly communicative way, a focus on the tactile aspect of surfaces, to be explored on the tips of the fingers and appreciated in their three-dimensional qualities.

Design and experience were the key words of the event, which, with perhaps even greater energy than in past editions (the last was in 2019, again in Milan), thrives on specific qualities that are difficult to associate with others in the sector: direct contact, in the space of the booth, between specifier and manufacturer, networking in the lounge areas created between the various exhibition blocks, immediate operability of the proposals, both in terms of novelties and updates.

ARCHITECT@WORK will return to Italy in autumn 2022 with two editions: in Turin on 5 and 6 October and again in Milan on 9 and 10 November.

A@W Turin and Milan 2022: official launch on 16 November

10 November 2021

For next year in Italy, ARCHITECT@WORK is doubling up. This had already happened in 2019, with the customary stop in Milan in November anticipated by a first edition in Turin the month before, marked by great success in terms of audience and participation in the splendid location of the Lingotto, whose architectural features closely matched the content of the exhibition.

After the very positive closure of last edition in Milan, on 3 and 4 November, expectations are growing for the new products and services that architecture and design companies and professionals have been working on in recent months, thanks also to the boom in the construction sector, stimulated by tax breaks and promoted by the positive wave of recovery.

ARCHITECT@WORK Turin 2022 will take place at Lingotto on 5 and 6 October 2022.
ARCHITECT@WORK Milan 2022 will follow at MiCo Milano Congressi on 9 and 10 November 2022.

The mechanisms of sharing, dialogue and updating, already tested by ARCHITECT@WORK in many other international editions, bring the public of Italian professionals closer together in Milan and Turin, creating an opportunity for presentation and meeting that is unique in the panorama of trade fairs. Moreover, in 2023, the Rome edition will take over from Turin again, creating another participation hub and weaving a dense and complex project network at territorial level.

The complexity of ARCHITECT@WORK's training and exhibition offer goes hand in hand with the diversification of the proposals and the ability to trigger positive mechanisms of dialogue and sharing, both within the specific and circumscribed spatial and temporal context of the event, and in the wider context of the profession, thanks to the relationships generated and the continuous opportunities for updating, work and study.

ARCHITECT@WORK – LOCAL IS THE NEW GLOBAL

13 May 2020

It goes without saying that COVID-19 has all of a sudden taken hold of all our lives, whether that be from a professional or private point of view with the extreme, yet necessary (confinement) measures that have been taken throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

The good news is that these measures have proven to be successful – the curve has flattened or is flattening – and multiple, phased exit scenarios are under construction in the different countries that we are active in.

We are positive and confident that our unique concept will once more prove its value: every single ARCHITECT@WORK is hosted nationally/regionally, right at the beating heart of a strong community of architects and interior designers.

ARCHITECT@WORK successfully closes the last edition of Milan and returns in 2019 with a new event for Turin

11 December 2018

The Milan event on 14 and 15 November successfully closed the 2018 ARCHITECT@WORK calendar, with 3,885 traders visiting the event over the two days, or 8% more than in 2017.

The next event, scheduled for October next year and important in terms of the north west of Italy’s commitment to innovation in architecture, construction and design, will be held in Turin, on 23 and 24 October 2019. Turin alternates every two years with Rome, which hosts its fourth edition in 2020. In Milan, on the other hand, the annual two-day event is allocated its usual dates in mid-November.

This year, two hundred exhibitors have demonstrated, through the showcasing of their projects and products, what it means to create modern day architecture, finding environment-friendly, versatile and modular solutions, made with materials that are frequently inspired by tradition, but innovating and improving them with new unique features and by using high-performance technologies.

ARCHITECT@WORK 2018 editions in Italy: Rome passes the baton to Milan

23 October 2018

The third edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Rome is only just over, but preparation is already under way for the second edition in Italy: Milan, 14th and 15th November in the beautiful setting of MiCo di Mario Bellini.

Light is a constant theme at the two days of the event in Italy, and is narrated through a series of four afternoon seminars (for which training credits are awarded), with several theme-based exhibitions that focus on the relationship between light, materials, architecture, photography and public and private spaces.

The interpreter of this relationship is the end user who as well as being a potential visitor at the event - which in a broad sense is dedicated to architects and designers - experiences the spaces specifically and appreciates their sensory qualities, which not only relate to aesthetics, but also to much more complex ideas.

Light, as shown in the immersive Light Boxes designed by APIL for ARCHITECT@WORK, plays a very powerful design role. If properly calibrated, it can add value to architecture, thus defining unexpected spaces and visuals.
