Shapes are boring? Light is fun? - 3 CFP

Arch. Ico Migliore and Arch. Mara Servetto (Studio Migliore+Servetto)

The site-specific α-cromactive installation was created for the Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper in Turin for its “Luci d’artista” event and is divided into two elements shaped by the “alpha” sign. These are individual elements that when added to the space become a unique form and organism, incorporating themselves into different scenarios where transparency and weightlessness become action, movement and light. Inside the bio-climatic greenhouse on the 35th floor, one hundred luminous flakes use innovative technology to generate an iridescent vortex in constant dialogue with natural and artificial light, while a wave of light expands to a height of 145 metres on the outdoor terrace, and 1 km of flexed fibreglass ribbons undulates in the wind, projecting an infinite repetition of the alpha sign.
